Auld Lang Syne

I really listened to this song tonight and what a great song.  Auld Lang Syne is about old friends who have parted and meet again.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?

So as I move into this year, it brought about synchronicity. This holiday I threw a formal dinner party for my closest friends to let them know how much I love and cherish their friendship – celebrate their beauty as women. It was part of my pledge to not forget to reach out or stay in touch with my friends. Life can make time past so fast when your world is busy. But I have learned that just the fact of having these people to call upon, check on me and love me is the priceless thing I plan to cherish even more. Happy 2013.  And auld lang syne!

Loss of A Child

In the last week I have had two people (one very important to me) loose a child…a baby. It’s such a hard thing to swallow, hard to know what to say and hard to know when to call. As I searched for the right gift, I see all of the responses from mothers who have gone through this; lovingly and bravely they share their stories of what gift made the difference at that time.  As I have been in these shoes twice over…these little angels are called in what we think is too soon but they will return when the time is best.
